UNYSAB Celebrates Eid for Street Children 2011
The United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) recently arranged a programme titled ‘Eid for Street Children 2011’. Through this program, UNYSAB celebrated this Eid with the less fortunate children of Dhaka city which included cloth donation programme followed by Iftar and dinner for those little street angels at the TSC ground in the Dhaka University campus. An art competition for them was also held in the TSC indoor playground.
UNYSAB members took the opportunity to stand beside the street children, who rarely get any opportunity to commemorate festive events. UNYSAB volunteers also reached out to the professionals of the society and collected donations, which were used for buying new clothes for the street children ahead of the Eid. A mobile team of UNYSAB also distributed clothes to the slums in different regions of Dhaka city. The programme served as a unified platform for professionals and volunteers to meet social commitments. DUMUNA and FYL ware the partners of the event.
