Besides promoting and popularising model UN conferences in all the divisions of Bangladesh, United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) has begun to organise diplomatic assemblies all around the country since the beginning of 2017. Diplomatic assemblies are the specialised UN model conferences that provide a platform for the young people who are interested in exploring global issues.
The first diplomatic assembly of the year was held in Jagannath University on February 24-25, 2017. Around 160 delegates from different educational institutions such as Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, and East West University participated in this conference. The conference offered UNDP, UNEP and SCBA committees. The second diplomacy assembly of the year was held in Rangpur, organised by UNYSAB Rangpur Wing and included similar committees. The conference was held in Begum Rokeya University on March 24-25, 2017. Nearly 176 delegates from various school, college and universities participated in this conference. The diplomatic assembly provides the youth a platform to explore their talents and take Bangladesh to a higher level in the global market using their negotiation skills. Within upcoming months, UNYSAB plans to organise 3 more diplomatic assemblies in Dhaka University, Rajshahi University and in Sylhet.
